Slitter Line Team Member
REPORTS TO:
Group Leader
FLSA STATUS:
Non-exempt
SUMMARY:
Performs daily Team Member functions as assigned by Group Leader within a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
– Follow all standard operating instructions with a focus on safety
– Supports Quality by following all standard operating instructions to produce a quality product
– Knowledge and use of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures; Follows boundary samples to ensure product meets specifications
– Ensures paperwork is completely accurate
– Participate in continuous improvement program (Kaizen)
– Basic heavy equipment operation such as forklifts and cranes
– Ability to work various shifts/overtime/days per week

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; proven related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operational procedures and work instructions. Ability to complete necessary documentation. Ability to speak/write effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of metric system, ability to work with computers, mechanically inclined.
CERTIFCATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Crane license, forklift license. (May be obtained in first three months of employment).

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper safety equipment is required for work on the warehouse floor.
